{"id":4912,"date":"2019-07-31T13:47:03","date_gmt":"2019-07-31T11:47:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mts.addlab.net\/bridge-piercing\/"},"modified":"2026-09-25T11:32:50","modified_gmt":"2026-09-25T09:32:50","slug":"bridge-piercing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mts.addlab.net\/en\/bridge-piercing\/","title":{"rendered":"BRIDGE PIERCING"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">We continue our series of articles on piercings with another highly requested one.<\/p>\n\n<!--more-->\n&nbsp;\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n\nThe Bridge piercing is performed on the upper part of the nasal septum, between the eyes, which explains the name \u201cbridge,\u201d as it seems to form a bridge between the eyes.\nThere are two types of bridge piercings: the horizontal and the vertical bridge.\n<h2><strong>EXECUTION:<\/strong><\/h2>\nThe piercer grasps the skin of the nose with forceps, lifting it from the bone, and performs two aligned holes.\nThe alignment of the holes is crucial, because if the holes are not aligned, the piercing will be crooked, resulting in a very unpleasant effect on facial symmetry.\nThe pain is average, as it is an area where the skin has little sensitivity.\n\n&nbsp;\n\n&nbsp;\n\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-14025 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/mts.addlab.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Schermata-2019-07-26-alle-15.10.56-226x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"226\" height=\"300\">\n\nThe <strong>Bridge piercing<\/strong> can have two versions:\n<em>The first is the most common,\nwhere it is placed <strong>horizontally<\/strong>.<\/em>\n\n&nbsp;\n\n&nbsp;\n\n&nbsp;\n\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-14032 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/mts.addlab.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Schermata-2019-07-27-alle-11.21.02-300x207.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"207\">\n\nThe second, a bit less common,\n<em>is where it is positioned <strong>vertically<\/strong>,<\/em>\n<em>\nthus a surface piercing aligned\nat eye level or higher, on the forehead.<\/em>\n\n&nbsp;\n\n<strong>HEALING:<\/strong>\nAs part of the surface piercing category, the healing period is a longer process compared to other types of piercings. Furthermore, it has a higher probability of rejection than other piercings. For this reason, it is advisable not to touch it more than necessary. If recognized in time, rejection can be managed by consulting your trusted piercer.\n<h2><strong>CARE:<\/strong><\/h2>\nUse a recommended specific disinfectant. Obviously, hygiene and cleanliness of the area are important. \n<h2><strong>WHAT IS NORMAL:<\/strong><\/h2>\n-Bleeding, burning, and\/or swelling\nAny skin wound, including a new piercing, can bleed or burn.\nThis <strong>does not<\/strong> indicate any complication.\nThe discharge of <strong>lymphatic secretion<\/strong> (composed of blood plasma, lymph, and dead cells) is <strong>normal<\/strong>; it should not be confused with pus and indicates the piercing&#8217;s healing process.\n<h2><strong>WHAT TO AVOID:<\/strong><\/h2>\n-Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or Betadine for piercing healing because they are too aggressive, dry out the skin, and can hinder healing.\nDo not over-clean the piercing. Once or twice a day is more than enough. Overdoing it will only prolong the piercing&#8217;s healing period.\n-Avoid oral contact, abrupt movements, and contact with other bodily fluids on or near your new piercing during healing.\nIt is advisable not to sleep on the side of the piercing during the healing period.\nDo not attach pendants or other objects to your jewelry until the piercing has healed.\n-Avoid immersing your piercing in
