health.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Italian tattoo regulations: operator training<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First of all, to become a professional tattoo artist and be able to practice the profession legally, it is mandatory to attend a <strong>1,500-hour training course, <\/strong>divided into 1,000 <strong>theoretical-practical <\/strong>hours and 500 hours of<strong> internship. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the course, it is essential to pass a final exam to obtain the <strong>Regional Certification<\/strong> recognized throughout the national and European territory.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This serves to give tattoo artists entering the world of tattoos <strong>specific and adequate training <\/strong>and <strong>complete preparation<\/strong> for the future profession they want to pursue. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the most important subjects in tattoo operator training are <strong>health and safety requirements,<\/strong> which are essential to ensure maximum safety in terms of prevention, health, sterilization, disposal, and cleaning. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, <strong>periodic refresher courses<\/strong> are provided to keep up with new techniques and current laws. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Italian tattoo regulations: health and safety requirements<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Italian tattoo regulations, tattoo studios must comply with certain: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>structural requirements <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>health and safety requirements <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regarding <strong>structural features<\/strong>, they must be equipped with a <strong>waiting room<\/strong> and <strong>reception<\/strong>, separate from the work environment, as well as a <strong>bathroom <\/strong>for clients. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rooms where tattoos are performed must be at <strong>least 9 m\u00b2 <\/strong>with surfaces suitable for <strong>disinfectant<\/strong> <strong>treatments <\/strong> and must contain a <strong>sink<\/strong> with elbow or foot control and at least <strong>1 table and 1 chair.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, the studio must have an area dedicated to <strong>special waste disposal<\/strong> and <strong>sterilization,<\/strong> an area for <strong>used products <\/strong>and a <strong>zone for new and intact products. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, it is <strong>mandatory to display inside the tattoo studio<\/strong> information regarding compliance with professional training requirements and the materials and products used, as well as information about risks.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As for the <strong>mandatory health and safety rules<\/strong>, all tattoo operators must always use <strong>sterile and single-use materials, clothing, tools, and equipment<\/strong> to avoid the risk of infections or transmissible diseases.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The law also requires tattoo artists to <strong>inform clients about the risks associated with the practice of tattooing<\/strong>, as well as the possible need for <strong>aftercare.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Substances in inks according to Italian tattoo regulations<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Italian regulations regarding tattoos also focus on the <strong>substances used in inks.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the beginning of 2022, the provisions changed, introducing a <strong>limitation on the use of over 4,000 chemicals<\/strong> considered dangerous to human health, including:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic substances for human reproduction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>skin-sensitizing substances<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>skin-corrosive substances<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>skin and eye-irritating substances<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>substances causing eye damage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This amendment aims to ensure the exclusive use of tattoo inks that meet <strong>certain safety and quality standards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tattoo artists are required to <strong>inform clients<\/strong> about the inks used and provide them with all necessary information on their composition. Furthermore, they must obtain the client&#8217;s written consent before proceeding with the tattoo. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Competent authorities carry out <strong>periodic checks <\/strong>to verify the compliance of inks with the requirements established by the regulations.
