necessary to acquire the <strong>hygiene and sanitation skills<\/strong> outlined in the <strong>Ministry of Health Guidelines<\/strong> and required by national regulations, through a very specific <strong>training program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are talking about the <strong>tattoo artist hygiene and sanitation course<\/strong>: a mandatory program that allows future tattoo artists to learn all the necessary knowledge to:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>prevent the risk of infections and transmissible diseases during tattooing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>take all precautions to avoid potential health problems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>recognize signs of infection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>manage any emergency situations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <strong>2021<\/strong>, the tattoo artist hygiene and sanitation course was <strong>updated<\/strong> to meet <strong>new industry needs and improve hygienic practices<\/strong> in the professional tattoo world.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>new regulation<\/strong> was introduced that transforms the course into a true <strong>training program<\/strong>, implementing various thematic areas and requiring tattoo artists to obtain a <strong>certificate of suitability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What the previous hygiene and sanitation course covered<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before the new Regulation, the Hygiene and Sanitation Qualification Course for Tattoo Operators included <strong>94 total hours of instruction and a final test<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The course provided <strong>basic knowledge<\/strong> in hygiene and sanitation and developed the <strong>practical skills necessary<\/strong> to perform tattoos safely, specifically:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Characteristics of jewelry, metals, and stones for piercing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Elements of allergology, infectiology, virology, and biology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Materials and tools for piercing and tattooing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anatomical sites for piercing application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specific industry regulations <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, it focused on all aspects related to structural requirements for the workplace, waste disposal, first aid, sterilization, biological risk, and skin anatomy and physiology.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Passing the exam led to the issuance of a <strong>professional qualification<\/strong> valid <strong>nationally<\/strong> (for all regions that required 94 hours, or less).<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The new 1500-hour hygiene and sanitation course regulation for tattoo artists<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the summer of 2021, new provisions were issued, regulated by <strong>Regional Law no. 13 of July 23, 2021<\/strong>, which define the professional figure of the Tattoo Operator.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This new regulation establishes that to <strong>practice the profession<\/strong>, tattoo artists must attend a <strong>1500-hour training course<\/strong> (no longer 94 hours).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of the course, they must pass a <strong>final exam<\/strong> to obtain the <strong>Regional Certification<\/strong> recognized throughout Italy and Europe.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new training program, with mandatory attendance, includes <strong>1000 hours of theoretical-practical instruction and 500 hours of internship.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These include and enhance <strong>hygiene and sanitation requirements<\/strong>, such as environmental requirements, sterilization, waste disposal, workplace safety, and safety techniques according to hygienic prophylaxis.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The objective is to provide:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>adequate <strong>skills<\/strong> in the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the skin<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>all <strong>practical tattooing techniques<\/strong> according to hygiene and prophylaxis standards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>knowledge of <strong>health risks<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>all <strong>hygiene and sanitation regulations<\/strong> and <strong>prevention measures<\/strong> essential for performing tattoo artist activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>skills to <strong>organize and maintain the workplace<\/strong>, equipment, and procedures in compliance with safety and environmental protection standards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same regulation also introduced <strong>mandatory refresher courses<\/strong> every three years, as well as <strong>penalties, license suspensions, and closures<\/strong> in case of violations or failure to possess the required hygiene and sanitation prerequisites. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new regulation for the tattoo artist hygiene and sanitation course is therefore aimed at protecting the <strong>health rights<\/strong> of clients, promoting <strong>high standards of quality and safety<\/strong>, and disseminating <strong>good practices<\/strong> in the tattoo sector.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The 1500-hour Tattoo Operator Course at Milano Tattoo School<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p
